The Government supported Minregion’s initiative and allocated an additional UAH 398.4 million from the Fund for Eliminating the Consequences of Armed Aggression to restore damaged housing in Kharkiv region.
Funding in the form of a state budget subvention will go to the Kharkiv city territorial community (UAH 210 million), the Chuhuiv city territorial community (UAH 38.2 million) and the Kharkiv region budget (UAH 150.1 million).
“We are allocating nearly UAH 400 million more to restore damaged housing in Kharkiv region. This covers 11 residential buildings in Kharkiv, Derhachi, Izium, Balakliia and Chuhuiv. Housing is one of the key issues for frontline communities. Russian attacks continue, so we must respond to new damage and complete restoration work already under way. We are directing funds not to abstract reconstruction, but to restoring specific buildings where people will live,” said Vitalii Bezghin, Minister for Communities, Territories and Internally Displaced Persons.
The additional funding will allow damaged housing restoration to continue and create conditions for people to return to life in their communities. The main stage of construction is scheduled for 2026–2027.
Background: the 11 recovery projects were proposed by the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration and included in the region’s (territorial communities’) unified public investment project portfolio.
Thanks to the decision, the total funding the state directs from the Fund for Eliminating the Consequences of Armed Aggression to recovery projects (Cabinet of Ministers resolution № 645) rises from UAH 338.1 million to UAH 736.48 million.
