Regional youth leaders begin a three-day visit to Kyiv.

They are youth representatives from all regions of Ukraine, leaders of the Chamber of Regional Youth Congresses of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine

The central theme of the meetings is how young people can shape and influence decision-making in their communities.

“Busy days lie ahead: meetings, training and work with state institutions. Then they will return to their regions, where the knowledge gained must be transformed into concrete initiatives. The main measure of our work is how many ideas actually become decisions. I thank President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the initiative, the Office of the President of Ukraine, communities and everyone involved in organising and supporting the development of regional youth congresses,” said Vitalii Bezghin, Minister for Communities, Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine.

As part of the programme, youth leaders have already met with Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi. The discussion was substantive: state financial programmes, resources for territorial development and support for youth housing loans.

Together with colleagues from the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, they held training on the preparation of local budgets. It is important to know where the state’s responsibility begins and how young people can participate in these processes.

Young leaders can become full participants in decision-making, and the new generation of managers must be ready to take responsibility for the development of their communities and the state.
