Minregion is preparing updates to state building regulations for public buildings and structures.
The terms of reference have already been approved and preparation of draft Amendment No. 2 to DBN V.2.2-9:2018 “Public Buildings and Structures. Basic Provisions” has begun.
The new requirements should reflect modern approaches to building safety, accessibility and comfort, as well as the current needs of people and communities. The updated regulations will apply to both new construction and major repairs and reconstruction.
“In updating requirements for public buildings, we must take account of modern approaches to safety, accessibility and comfort. This is not simply a set of technical parameters, but the creation of facilities that are convenient and safe for people with different needs and in different life situations. It is important that the needs of different gender groups will also be taken into account when updating the regulations. This is consistent, in particular, with the objectives of the National Action Plan for implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 ‘Women, Peace and Security’ for the period up to 2030,” said Deputy Minister Nataliia Kozlovska
The first draft of the amendments is currently being prepared. The ministry plans to publish it for public discussion within the next few months.
The update will cover, in particular:
accessibility and inclusive routes and areas on public building premises;
shelters and civil protection requirements;
lifts and engineering systems;
site organisation, parking and cycling infrastructure;
fire safety;
sanitary requirements, noise and vibration;
requirements for built-in and production premises.
