Vitalii Bezghin takes part in the second day of the Carpathian Summit on shared challenges and opportunities for mountain area development

He stressed that the Carpathian Integration Initiative should form the basis of a future EU Strategy for the Carpathian Region, with shared priorities, projects and European funding.

Ukraine already takes account of the specific characteristics of mountain areas in its new regional policy, having designated them a separate functional type. The next step is to turn shared priorities into concrete partnerships and projects.
