The EIB is one of our key partners in recovery. At the regional level alone, we are implementing 340 projects in communities under three programmes. 21 have already been completed and another 54 are planned for completion by the end of the year.
But the main focus of the discussion was where we go from here.
▪️ Housing. We are working to reform Ukraine’s housing sector and launch pilot social housing projects in communities. We are creating a stock of affordable rental housing for IDPs and others who need it, so that we do not continue to operate according to the logic of housing waiting lists.
▪️ The “Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings in Ukraine” programme already covers 53 communities. We proposed extending its geographical reach and adding renewable energy and energy storage solutions for hospitals, schools and kindergartens. This is now a matter not just of savings but also of community resilience.
▪️ Regional recovery. It is important for us to maintain the pace of project implementation and attract the next tranches and additional financing.
“We are drawing up a clear work plan for 2027. I thank our European Investment Bank partners, including the EIB office in Ukraine, for their continued support,” Vitalii Bezghin emphasised.
