1000 project managers for communities over the next year and a half. This is the goal set by the Minregion team.

“And we are already moving from a general framework to concrete steps. We are working on a separate project that we will soon present to international partners and donors,” — Vitalii Bezghin

Ihor Popadiuk will become the initiative’s programme manager: a specialist well known in local self-government circles with extensive practical experience in project and regional work.

European programmes and international funds open significant opportunities for our communities. But an opportunity alone does not guarantee a result. People and institutions are needed that can turn available financial resources into new infrastructure, quality services and local economic development.

Alongside training specialists, we must create and strengthen project offices in the regions and work with European programmes and international partners. We will bring existing expertise, training products and financial opportunities together around a common system.

We plan to pilot this model as a separate area under the Carpathian Integration Initiative. There is considerable potential for cross-border and interregional cooperation, European programmes and joint projects with neighbouring countries.

And it is essential that the training result in ready projects for communities.
