Minister for Communities, Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Vitalii Bezghin joins the Switzerland–Ukraine Municipal Cooperation Forum in Basel online

Switzerland is one of Minregion’s strategic partners. The Ministry is currently a beneficiary of Swiss international technical assistance projects worth more than USD 200 million. Areas include support for decentralisation reform, regional development, energy efficiency, digitalisation and housing policy.

We are also developing horizontal cooperation between Ukrainian and Swiss communities. Today we already have 5 partnerships with the Swiss cities of Bern, Zurich and Geneva. It is important that the number of such partnerships grows and that they lead to concrete joint projects in communities.

"Municipal cooperation is also important for our European integration. Communities must be ready to work according to the principles of EU Cohesion Policy and use European resources effectively. We are preparing for this now. I thank the Swiss government, Swiss cities and cantons, and the Embassy of Ukraine for their consistent support", said Vitalii Bezghin.
