Vitalii Bezghin is on a working visit to Cherkasy. During the Mayors’ Summit “School Meals Reform in Action”, the Minister visited educational institutions and saw how the reform works directly in communities.
In Cherkasy, nearly 27 thousand pupils in grades 1–11 receive free meals — effectively 100% of children attending in person or in a mixed format.
The visit also included discussion of which solutions are already working, what challenges arise in practice and what can be scaled up in other communities.
“School meals reform is not only about menus or modernising kitchens. It involves infrastructure, equipment, trained specialists and high-quality organisation of processes. At its centre are the child and their quality of life,” Vitalii Bezghin said.
