General secondary education:
16 October 2025
Ukrainian citizens who lived in the temporarily occupied territories can have their learning outcomes recognised and continue their education in Ukrainian schools. A special procedure for recognition of learning outcomes is available for this purpose.
How do you confirm your education?
Submit an application in any form to any general secondary education institution in Ukraine authorised to carry out the recognition procedure. The application may be sent by email or other means of communication.
Attach to the application:
- a copy of a document confirming residence in the temporarily occupied territory and displacement from it;
- an educational declaration containing information about learning outcomes;
- optionally, other documents or certificates that will help confirm learning outcomes.
Undergo assessment in subjects within the Ukrainian studies component, such as the Ukrainian language and history of Ukraine. Results in other subjects stated in the educational declaration are recorded as “attested”.
Obtain a Ukrainian education document. Following a successful assessment, the educational institution orders and issues a Ukrainian-standard certificate of basic or complete general secondary education.
