# Social adaptation

16 October 2025

The social adaptation service for IDPs is a set of measures that helps internally displaced persons adapt to a new social environment and restore their psycho-emotional health and social activity. It includes psychological support, social skills training, assistance in finding work and help in strengthening family ties, providing access to the resources needed for successful integration.

## Main areas of the service:

- Psychological assistance: individual and group consultations and therapy to restore psycho-emotional well-being.

- Socialisation and skills: social skills training, help in establishing new connections, and support for participation in community life and interest clubs.

- Professional support: vocational training, retraining and help finding a job to promote employment and self-sufficiency.

- Support for family ties: assistance in strengthening or restoring family relationships that may have been affected by displacement.

- Access to resources: ensuring access to necessary social services, medical and financial assistance, as well as housing and food.

## How to obtain the service:

The service is provided through pilot projects implemented in certain territorial communities in Ukraine, often at territorial social service centres.
