The meeting continued a conversation the parties began online a month earlier.

Key topics included:

- Cooperation between Ukrainian local self-government and the EU. The first meeting of the Joint Consultative Committee is planned for November with representatives of all levels of Ukrainian local self-government.

- Winter preparations. Ukrainian communities need equipment ranging from modular boiler houses to generators. The European Committee of the Regions has already appealed to all EU regions for support.

- EU cohesion policy. It is important to strengthen communities’ capacity now to attract European funding, prepare high-quality projects and participate more actively in decision-making.

- URC-2027 in Tallinn. The parties discussed engaging new European partners, particularly for frontline communities.

The Minister thanked Kata Tüttő and the European Committee of the Regions team for supporting Ukraine and Ukrainian communities.
